Abstract:

We prove part of the Tannakian duality, namely the fact that one can recover a group from its category of representations, for generalized differential rings - which allows a unified treatment of differential and difference rings. This is achieved using model-theoretic tools such as internality and binding groups, and the analysis of imaginaries. We apply our results to obtain a generalization of Galois-theoretic results on difference fields.
