Abstract:

We generalize Hrushovski's predimension function in a manner allowing a structure A to support polynomially (rather than linearly) many relations in |A|. We show that the generic construction associated with this generalized predimension function is a proper reduct of Hrushovski's original construction and that its pregeometry is isomorphic to that of the original construction.
